"Boyfriends", Birks, and More.

H&M sandals and American Eagle jeans

H&M bag

Nasty Gal earrings (sold out)

I have to say, there has been a lot of great trends this season.
It's a shame I'm just now talking about them,
but better late than never…

As you can see I've only included a few of my favorites into this outfit;
boyfriend jeans, Birkenstocks (or in my case "mock-stocks"), the Céline-inspired tote, and statement jewelry.

We saw the 90's make a come-back earlier in 2013, and it's still here with the über popular distressed jean, and bulky Birkenstock sandal, and I'm glad it is. These American Eagle boy jeans are ridiculously comfortable and affordable, and my "Birkenstocks" are no different. Moving outside pre-millenium inspiration, the famous Céline luggage tote has been popular for a couple years now, but has gained insane recognition within the last several months. Even in my wildest dreams I can't afford a Céline bag, so when I saw this bag at H&M, the similarity and price tag caught me right away and I decided to make the purchase. Moving on to the last item, I got these NastyGal earrings a couple months ago as a birthday present, and I am obsessed with them. Statement necklaces are always popular, but I've noticed that statement earrings are becoming a cool, must-have piece this summer, so I decided to jump on the bandwagon.

Well, there you have it, the top four trends of s/s '14…
All jokes aside, tell me what you think! What are your favorite trends?

The New Girls On The Block.

http://www.npr.org/2013/09/25/225839458/first-listen-haim-days-are-gone
I can officially say, that I have been sucked into the hot mess that is Coachella. From Kendall Jenner to Justin Beiber, Coachella seems to be the watering hole for rich young hipsters with nothing else to do, but listen to old MGMT songs, like they just came out yesterday (they were cool when I was in junior high!). Nevertheless, despite some poor fashion choices and terribly over-reaching music, a light has shown through the excess fringe and cut off daisy dukes, and that light is none other than... HAIM!

I just recently discovered the band, so I'm probably a little behind the rest of the world, but I heard their song Forever during a Target commercial, thought it was awesome, SoundHounded it, checked out some more songs of their, and now I have HAIM fever (see what I did there)! I'm so glad we're getting some badass girl bands out there, and what makes this band so much more unique than others, is that they're all sisters! No, I haven't forgotten about Tegan and Sara, but there is something so classically 80's pop yet modern about HAIM's sound that I can't even really compare it to other "lady bands". Definitely check out these guys... gals. I've included my Spotify link to their Day's Are Gone album in my Trending page, and if you happen to be a rich bitch that can afford Coachella tickets get your little sheer top-booty short-floppy hat-Dr. Marten- wearin' self on over to their stage, as today is their last day in Indio!

No Way, an OOTD!

Ah, clothes. Why are you so good to me? You make me feel better in every way- you hide my body dysmorphia issues and that weird dry patch on my arm, and automatically increase my self confidence every time I purchase you-while simultaneously decreasing my funds. So what better way to celebrate the awesomeness of clothes than to take a picture of it and show it to millions of strangers on the internet? Some folks would call this an: OOTD!

I should start off by saying I've never done an OOTD, and had no idea what that even stood for until like 2 months ago.

Yea, true story. And yes, I do live under a rock. So just in case there are any other fellow clueless folks out there, OOTD stands for Outfit Of The Day. Now while this may seem like a somewhat silly and pointless act, OOTD's can be pretty helpful for the girl who's looking for a little style inspiration. And plus who doesn't secretly want to rock their new rags for the world to see. Clothes are awesome and in my opinion should be celebrated for their diversity and uniqueness. That being said, here is my own go at the OOTD craze...

So there it is, my first OOTD. And I realize that it's probably not a real OOTD, because I'm not actually in the clothes in any of the pictures, but that's because I wanted to show the pieces not on me to highlight the details (plus I am the worst at selfies, and it would just look horrible. Maybe after I get used to this whole blogging thing, I'll start doing OOTD with the outfit actually on me.)

Some of these items are new, some are not, but I've actually never worn the origami skort or heels before last night. I actually got the skort as a present this past Christmas, and I can't even tell you how long I've been wanting an origami skort. I first saw one online this past Summer, but it was well out of my price range, and I was obsessed with the thought of wearing one ever since. My family knew I wanted one, and they kindly got me this pale peach number and I love it. Unfortunately, since I received the skirt in Winter, I wasn't able to wear it, until last night when I was getting ready to go out to dinner with some friends, did I remember that this was my perfect chance to pull out some of the pieces that I've never worn before (and there are many)! I think I may do more of these because it actually got me thinking about pieces I don't wear anymore or forgot about. Who knows, maybe this will help me to not waste anymore money on new clothes, and just focus on recycling outfits in my own closet… actually, that's unlikely. Yea, that's never going to happen.

Thanks for reading!

Morning matcha!

Winter has passed, and Spring is officially here, and I have to say, I'm not that happy about it. Winter is  my favorite time of the year, and I find myself pining for places like Seattle, Portland, or Denver every time spring and summer come around- and I've never even been to these places! And since, I don't foresee myself traveling to these places anytime soon, I've found that tea has been able to transport me to a colder and cozier world.

So now I'm  on a hunt for different types of teas; so far I've tried Tazo Chai tea, Earl Grey (which is one of my favorites), and Mint tea. However my most recent obsession is Matcha green tea, which is the same thing as the Green Tea Frappuccino sold at Starbucks. The rich greenness of the Matcha is absolutely beautiful, and might be my favorite part about it, aside to its amazing and unique taste.

Unfortunately, the Matcha powder itself is very hard to find in stores (AJ's Fine Foods sells it for close to 20$), but I was able to find a can of it online at Vitacost for about $13- including shipping. Fortunately, finding the powder is the hardest part in making a Matcha green tea latte, because the preparation is super easy… So let's do this thing!

Ingredients:
- 1 tsp. of Matcha
- 2/3c. of milk (or milk substitute)
- 2-3 tbsp. of hot water
* sugar or honey
Directions:
- set milk in saucepan over medium heat, until bubbles foam around sides (don't boil)
- add the matcha into cup, and mix with hot water
- mix the matcha and water until all the powder is dissolved.
- add the milk and mix
* add sugar or honey if you like

And Ta-Da!

I haven't tried this yet, but if you refrigerate it, you can make an iced Matcha green tea latte by adding ice after it's cooled… Enjoy!

Introduction Post!

So this is my first blog, and I have absolutely no idea what I am doing. I honestly have never thought to try blogging, because I am hands down the lamest person on the planet, and I just don't feel like my life is that interesting enough to share to the internet world. However, recently- through the countless and well-wasted hours I've spent scouring Pinterest and tumblr- I've found that some of the funniest, wittiest stories and most visually enticing photographs come from personal blogs. I can't help but be envious of some of my favorites: The Man RepellerRefinery 29, and the one and only Anna Dello Russo. In retrospect I guess you could say I was inspired by these successful websites, and in an amateur act, I am going to give my own go at blogging. So here's a little introduction as to what I will (mostly) be blogging about:

1. Fashion (obvi)
2. Food
3. Music
4. Art/ Design
5. Books
6. Movies/ television shows
*There's a good chance that I won't be consistent at all with writing about these topics*

I am not a serious person, so hence I will most likely not write about serious things. However, this is still my little blog, and I will write about things that interest me and maybe every so often about things that are personal to me… That being said, welcome to my blog!
